Going Paperless Is the Right Move for Your Business

Running a business is very difficult, and it is hard to keep track of all the paper you use. But what you don’t know is that the amount of paper you waste or lose is costing you more than you realize. You can lose hundreds of dollars from a misplaced paper file or an incorrectly printed document. The amount of dollars you spend on paper annually might shock you.

You must be aware of the disadvantages of using paper, but they are necessary when you need to sign a document, right? Wrong! Thanks to the advancement of technology, you can sign documents online and will not need to house a lot of paper in your office. Switching to a paperless office is much easier than you might think.

Following are some of the disadvantages of using paper in your office:

1.          Papers Take Too Much Space

You will realize how much space paper takes in your office when you have to look for an important document in a sea of papers. Go ahead and open your filing cabinet. We bet it must be overflowing with paper. If the file you need is in that clutter, well, good luck.

It is so much easier to save the files online and send them over with just a click of the mouse. You can just sign documents online and they will be in your client’s inbox in a matter of minutes. Not only will your costs be reduced, but you will also make a lot of space in your office.

2.          Go Green, Go Paperless

It is common knowledge that paper is not environmentally friendly. The consumption of paper is harming our planet. The United States is one of the biggest consumers of paper as it is a business hub. However, the companies around the country can do their work with much more efficiency if they decide to go paperless.

Imagine, you have to sign and send an important document to an international client. Well, you clearly can’t hire a messenger service. The document would first have to be printed so it can be signed. The signed document would then be scanned so it can be transferred electronically. Not only did you waste unnecessary paper, but you also wasted time. By going paperless, you could easily sign documents online and help save the environment in the process.

3.          Chance of Forgery

Running a business is hard enough without having to worry about forgery. When you sign documents using a pen, there is a chance that you might become a victim of forgery.

However, if you go paperless and sign documents online, you will not have to worry about forgery. E-sign allows you to increase the security for sensitive documents. The person on the other end will not be able to access the document unless you provide them with a public key, making it impossible to be tampered with.
